You are missing my point, people touting a cure for GERD are on here giving bad advice and are now selling things that are making people sick. Probably there are some herbal treatments that work on the symptoms of GERD, supposedly ginger juice (which I tried), apple cider vinegar (which I haven't tried), anything that acts as a coating element or some sort of an antacid regardless if it is an herb or a man made drug will help. However, these do not cure GERD, neither do PPI's or H2 blockers, but these drugs are known to be a treatment, not a cure. There is no herbal or medicinal cure for people with physical problems, only symptom relief.
The problem I have with the "herbalists" and natural therapy people is that they are missing the cause of the condition, and I am tired of reading this nonsense. If you have a hiatal hernia, or a malfunctioning LES valve, your problem is not that you have Hpylori or not enough vitamin this or that, your body is broken.
You say you felt better after taking herbal remedies, but you also say that you had gastritis, and other stomach problems. This is not GERD. I am glad you are feeling better, and I'm not attacking you.
If someone feels better from taking marshmellow leaves, or licorice, so be it, post a tip. However, it is not a "cure", probably isn't a substitute for medication for most people, and shouldn't be marketed for profit here in my opinion.
